Life in Houston has its tendency of becoming monotonous. After what seems like non stop working, and traveling I went through an extended phase of exhaustion. As a creative, it’s imperative to be in environments where my creative juices flow effortlessly. For the first time writing was rough for me–emotionally and physically. I felt like I no longer belonged here, but then again I didn’t know where exactly I belonged. I began questioning my purpose and It wasn’t up till recently that I had a wake up call. After grabbing tea with a friend who also felt the same way, we both realized that we were blaming all we have. Ourselves. The key to surviving these moments of adversity and gaining clarity is remembering W H Y you do what you do. Why do you wake up in the morning? Knowing the W H Y is the quickest route to fulfilling our purpose. It took a soufflé and tea for us to have our aha! moment.
