“You’re Never Too Old To Become Younger.” ~ Mae West
Let’s Blog Over Summer Skincare…
I probably should have fixed up my eyebrows in this photo, but fuck it.. Can’t be perfect all the time.
I’m a huge believer in that if you focus on good skincare, you really won’t need a lot of makeup. In fact in my opinion, healthy skin is a reflection of overall wellness.
During the summer I don’t wear a n y makeup. I don’t see the point in wearing makeup in the summer. It’s so hot! As hot as it is the last thing I want to do is spend over an hour doing my makeup just for it to melt.
I’ve always been a crazy person when it comes to my skin. In fact I didn’t wear makeup for the first time until I was about 25 years old. Even at 25 years old I didn’t wear it much – frankly because I didn’t know how to use it.
My skincare routine switches during the winter and summer months. In the winter I’m all about making sure my skin stays hydrated. In the summer I just want to glow. I switched up my product and I have been getting non-stop questions about my glow. People have started asking me if was pregnant because my skin is glowing. Let me keep it 100 with you. I’m not.
HERE ARE THE PRODUCTS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW
Cleansing- So I start off with two different facial cleansers. I use the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash first. It’s derived grapefruit extract plus vitamin C, that has gentle exfoliators that smooth away roughness without over-drying or irritating acne-prone skin. They’re makeup wipes are pretty cool too.
I also use my Soy Cleanser by Fresh. This takes out all of the dirt and impurities in my skin. It’s super light, and doesn’t take the moisture out of my skin.
This Foreo Luna is my favorite skincare gadget. It gets super deep into my skin to make sure it’s clean and fresh. It’s get’s the job done, but it’s not harsh on my skin.
I exfoliate with this walnut scrub. It purifies my pres pores, diminishes dullness, and smoothes out the texture of my skin to make it more youthful.
Ever since I’ve gotten off birth control I’ve had tiny breakouts here and there. Usually when my cycle is about to start. I have been using the GlamGlow Supermud Mask for years now, and I swear by it. It’s a clarifying mask with six exfoliating acids and activated charcoal to instantly and visibly clear pores and clarify the complexion.
Sometimes that acne I was talking about can cause some dark spots to appear. I use the Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner to make sure my skin even is smooth and lacking dark spots.
After my melanoma diagnosis I’ve been very careful with products that I use, and taking care of my skin, health and body overall. I love the UV Expert Aquagel Defense Primer & Moisturizer SPF 50 by Lancôme. It not only hydrates and protects my skin, but I can also use it as a primer.
Now for the glow that e v e r y b o d y is asking me about- I’m using the Let’s Get Luminous Brightening by Olehenriksen. It’s a glow-boosting set of three vitamin C skincare bestsellers to reveal your radiance and target visible signs of aging. I can’t live without this. It’s just incredible.
Last, but not least is I drink a lot of water.
This is seriously all I do to my skin. No makeup, just really good skincare.
